These two quotes stood out to me in this week's reading. And while they focus on education in a school setting, I do also think that they apply to private music lessons.

"The ideal school situation is one in which the spirit of inquiry and investigation is constantly encouraged and in which children are developing ideals of service by virtue of their activity." (page 5, Kindle Edition)
