There is no known formula with which to do this, but, just as we rely on our creativity in making music, we can use it to broaden our career horizons, develop and involve our audiences, project our role as musicians, market our product, and incorporate appropriate technology around us. We need not be intimidated by this challenge but should regard it as an integral part of the excitement inherent in choosing to live the life of a performer. In so doing, we form a bond with the great men and women of the past who loved music and who loved being a musician to the fullest measure possible."
