"When you entertain business associates, it is of course not the same thing as entertaining close friends or relatives, but the responsibilities for the host are similar. Here are some tips: Be yourself. Smile. Show that you are having fun and be gracious and generous, making your guests feel welcomed. Don’t try to overdo it or you’ll be set for failure. Simplicity is best both with your theme/ décor and food. Planning is key. Lists help. Avoid catering, and personalize by trying to make at least two-thirds of the meal yourself in order to cultivate an intimate atmosphere. Buy dessert if you must. A little bit of foresight for the details will help enormously."
